How to Choose the Right TV Headphones?

Are you still annoyed by not being able to listen to TV at your own volume, and are you still complained by others while enjoying your favorite TV shows? A good pair of TV headphones allows you to watch TV at your preferred volume without disturbing other people at home.
In this article, we will explore the knowledge related to wireless TV headphones together and guide you know the important criteria related to choosing the right wireless TV headphones.

1) What type of audio output port does your TV have?
When you use wireless TV headphones, you usually need to connect an adapter to the TV's audio output port, so in addition to checking whether your TV has an audio output port, you also need to check the type of audio output port your TV has to ensure that the TV headphones are compatible with your TV.
There are mainly the following types of audio output ports:

a. HDMI ports
Almost all devices you want to connect to your TV will use HDMI. HDMI has a standardized connector shape and digital signals that can transmit everything from ultra-high-definition video and surround sound to Internet data. However, there are not many wireless audio transmitter adapters that support Bluetooth HDMI now, so you may need an additional HDMI extractor or choose something else.

b. Coaxial audio output port: Usually used to connect TV antennas or older cable and satellite TV equipment, it is not common nowadays.

c. Digital optical audio out port(Sometimes labelled TOSLINK or S/PDIF): This port, which is usually covered with a small flap, sends digital audio to your sound system. Because it uses a digital format, it’s usually more crisp than RCA Stereo, which uses analog.

d. 3.5mm aux audio out port: it also known as the headphone jack, is a common analog audio connection. You'll be very familiar with this type of connection on many devices you own -- especially mobile devices and headphone connections on computer.

e. RCA audio output: Other Names: L AUDIO OUT, ROUTPUT, R-AUDIO-L, LINE OUT, AV OUT or Analog Audio Out. These red and white ports mean they can split the audio into two separate channels -- the left channel and the right channel.
Note: Other red and white RCA ports labeled as “COMPONENT IN” or “VIDEO IN” or AUDIO” are not suitable.

f. USB port: A common connector on everything from smart TVs to laptops is USB. These ports can be used for connecting a flash drive for viewing media on the TV, or to power devices over USB, such as a streaming stick or amplified antenna. Sometimes, the TV's USB port can also output audio signals through corresponding devices and software.

2) Find the right headphones according to your needs
a. For example: Do you need headphones with a louder volume? Some headphones allow the left and right ears to adjust the volume separately or support one-click amplification of surrounding sounds, while some headphones focus on providing lower latency or stronger anti-interference.
b. Do you need storage? If so, headphones with a base transmitter or a bracket transmitter will usually be more suitable for you.
c. Consider your usage scenario. For example, is there a need to listen to TV with other people? Not all transmitters support multiple headphones.
d. Other needs, such as battery life, comfort, whether to isolate external noise, etc.
If you are not sure, contact the manufacturer immediately for consultation, they will help you choose the right product for you.

3) Size and color - What shape of headphones do you prefer?
There are many styles of TV headphones on the market, including over-ear, on-ear, in-ear, etc., and they vary in color and weight. If you use these headphones for watching TV programs, you may need to wear them for a long time, so comfort is very important.

4) How about using Bluetooth headphones directly?
Please note that compared with TV headphones with wireless transmitters, most Bluetooth headphones will encounter the following problems during use:
a. Perfectly synchronized audio cannot be guaranteed: Most Bluetooth headphones do not have low-latency Bluetooth, so if you use them to watch TV, you may experience very serious audio delays.
b. Requires your TV to have built-in Bluetooth, otherwise it will not work.
c. Cannot add more headphones.
d. Poor reliability and stability, more susceptible to interference from other wireless devices during use, disconnection.
e. Limited scope of work.

(5) Test before purchase.
If you don't know whether your TV supports audio output or you want headphones and speakers to work at the same time, we recommend that you do the following tests before placing an order:
1. You can plug ordinary wired headphones directly into the TV's audio output and check whether you can hear the sound or whether headphones and speakers can work at the same time.
2. Check the TV manual or ask the TV manufacturer.
3. Our experience tells us that if you use the TV's digital optical port as the audio output source, you are more likely to play audio synchronously through the TV headphones.

With the current work-from-home environment, a pair of Wireless Headphones for TV Watching may JUST BE the PERFECT SOLUTION for a lot of issues you encounter at home.
